FEBRUARY 2018

The season finale of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project on April 21 at Jordan Hall will feature Vivian Choi as the soloist in the US premiere of Huang Ruo's Piano Concerto ''Unscrolled''. Composed during his residency at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in 2015, Ruo uses traditional Chinese landscape painting on long scrolls, as the model for his concerto. Click for more info

AMERICAN MASTERS BOSTON MODERN ORCHESTRA PROJECT

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP) presents Vivian Choi in its 2016-2017 season opening program of 'American Masters'. The concert will feature pianist Vivian Choi as the soloist in Gail Kubik's Symphony Concertante, a triple concerto for piano, viola and trumpet which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1952, and Harold Shapero's Partita in C for Piano and Orchestra. The recordings of these works will be released on the BMOP/Sound label in 2017. Click for more info

WQXR PRESENTS 'THE PIANO IN SPAIN' Live from The Greene Space

WQXR New York's Classical Radio Station, presented The Piano in Spain with David Dubal, a new radio series dedicated to Spanish composers and performers. RADIO BROADCAST ON WWFM THE CLASSICAL NETWORK

Selections from Vivian Choi's recordings will be featured on WWFM The Classical Network on The Piano Matters with author and pianist David Dubal. Tune into WWFM 89.9 HD2 on January 14th (repeat broadcast on January 18th at noon) and January 21st (repeat broadcast on January 25th at noon) at 10pm. Mr Dubal compares recordings of great piano works performed by various artists. The show airs Wednesdays at 10pm, with an Encore presentation Sundays at noon. Click for more info

GISBORNE HERALD NEW ZEALAND

Following her New Zealand debut at the Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University of Wellington), Vivian Choi launches the 2015 Tiromoana Summer Concert Series in Gisborne, NZ. Choi performs two concerts on January 9th and 10th. The program includes the newly commissioned work by New Zealand composer Gao Ping. Read Article

Vivian Choi's latest album, Souvenirs, contains a sparkling array of classics of the piano repertoire with composers ranging from Scarlatti and Mozart to Chopin and Albeniz. This limited edition album features two bonus tracks of piano works by Chinese composers for which Vivian received critical acclaim on her recent China Tour.
